Hutera and Keith Awarded Yamaha Music Educator's Scholarships

Yamaha Corporation of America and the Madison Scouts are pleased to announce Megan Hutera and Brian Keith as recipients of the Yamaha Music Educator’s scholarship.The $500 scholarships are awarded annually to one percussionist and one brass player in the Madison Scouts who demonstrate good citizenship and leadership skills and are also pursuing a collegiate degree in the field of music education, music performance, or music business.

Megan Hutera, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, is currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she majors in music education and studies trumpet with Mr. Robert Baca, Director of Jazz Studies. She is first female brass member of the Madison Scouts and was prominently featured as a flugelhorn soloist in the 2018 production.Brian Keith, of Georgetown, Kentucky, is a second year member of the Madison Scouts. Brian is a music performance major at the University of Kentucky where, as a senior, is a member of the UK Percussion Studio and studying under James Campbell, Professor of Percussion. Brian also performs with the Music City Mystique, WGI Indoor Percussion Ensemble.
