U.S. Marine Corps to Sponsor Three Forward Performing Arts Events

Forward Performing Arts and the Madison Scouts are pleased to announce the United States Marine Corps as a premium sponsor for the “Scouts Summer Series” of hosted Drum Corps International (DCI) events including the The Whitewater Classic on June 24th, The Northwoods Encore on July 6th, and Drums on Parade on July 9th.

“We are honored to have the U.S. Marine Corps join us in underwriting these three great events in Wisconsin,” said Executive Director Chris Komnick. “With 15 World and Open Class units participating, we expect to provide the stage for over 2000 young musicians to perform to a combined audience of over 6000.”"The United States Marine Corps would like to congratulate all the musicians performing in the Scouts Summer Series.” said Captain John D. Devroy. “The Marine Corps is currently recruiting talented musicians to play in our 12 Fleet Marine Force Bands and these three events are a great opportunity to support some of the best young musicians in the country.”The Marine Corps provides musicians a great opportunity to increase their professional musical skills while traveling the world. As part of the sponsorship, the Marines will have a booth at all three events to discuss opportunities as a Marine Corps musician.Founded in 1938, the Madison Scouts are a World-Class member of Drum Corps International, competing in over 30 events throughout the United States this summer. Forward Performing Arts is the umbrella organization of the Madison Scouts along with additional performing ensembles and educational outreach programs.
