AUDITION PROCESS

1. Register - Complete the corps interest & registration form and purchase your audition at ScoutsProShop.com
   
2. Access MadU Classes - Madison Scouts auditionees will receive access to optional MadU course offerings that include: sectionals, leadership, health & fitness, college/career readiness, diversity and inclusion, and community-building. Courses run from Feb. 1-May 2, 2021.
   
3. Take Individual Lessons - Develop your audition material in a series of one-on-one virtual lessons with the Madison Scouts educational team. Lessons are scheduled based on your availability.
   
4. Submit Your Audition Video - All applicants will submit an audition video for evaluation by a Madison Scouts educator. Details on audition content are described in the audition packet.
   
5. Attend a Virtual Event - After submitting your video audition, all applicants will attend a two hour virtual education & audition event with the Madison Scouts educational team. You will have the opportunity to meet our educators, drum majors, and to learn in a small group setting. Each applicant will complete a short interview with their caption educators during the event.
   
6. Feedback & Results - At the completion of this process, you will receive written feedback and your status moving forward.
   
7. Prepare for 2021 -  Applicants who earn contracts are required to participate in virtual lessons, sectionals, and leadership courses via MadU.

WAITLIST

While some sections are currently full, we are actively building out a waitlist for the hornline, color guard, and battery. In the case that a member leaves before or during the drum corps season, we plan to have a bench of qualified waitlist members (must complete an audition and earn this status) who can fill the vacant position.

SUMMER 2021

Risk mitigation for COVID-19 transmission

The safety and wellbeing of our members, staff, and volunteers remains our top priority as we design our plans for summer 2021. With the guidance of the CDC, public health departments, and DCI’s Tour Reopening Task Force, we have crafted our Pandemic Procedures Plan that will significantly mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission. As we near July, we will continue to refine and adjust our procedures in accordance with the guidelines provided by the previously listed groups.

All staff and volunteers choosing to participate will be vaccinated against COVID-19. We are highly recommending that all corps members receive full vaccination prior to arrival if possible, with special exceptions being considered on a case-by-case basis.

Season Structure

We intend to spend the majority of our summer in Wisconsin, beginning on July 1. We will participate in local performance opportunities as we develop our production over the course of the first 4 weeks.

On the weekends of July 30-August 1 and August 6-8, we plan to participate in a series of ‘Midwest Combine’ drum corps events. We intend to house in one central location, and return to the same housing site after each show.

We will complete our summer in Indianapolis as participants in the DCI Showcase events in Lucas Oil Stadium on August 12-14.

2021 Production

We are in the process of preparing a modern, 8.5 minute DCI field show that promises to be challenging for the membership and entertaining for audiences everywhere.

Tuition

Tuition is $2750 for all members.
