Scouts & Crusaders Raise over $72K

The Madison Scouts and Boston Crusaders raised over $72,000 in this year's Old School Challenge REMATCH, a ten-day fundraising campaign to supports both corps. Recovering from the defeat last year, the Scouts won the Challenge this year raising $41,208 to Boston's $32,035."We were behind heading into the last day," said Scouts Executive Director Chris Komnick. "We received a couple of large single donations on Friday and a whole lot of donations in the $100-$500 range. Our alumni and fans really came through to support the corps!"Both corps more than doubled the amounts raised in 2010. In the spirit of the contest, Tom Spataro, Boston's Executive Director, donned one of the Scouts new "uniform" shirts for the crowd in Atlanta.
