Perry, Sheller, and Whitehouse Named Scouts 2015 Drum Majors

The Madison Scouts are pleased to introduce the 2015 drum majors Eric Perry, Zachary Sheller, and Logan Whitehouse.ERIC PERRYEric Perry (19), of Hurst, Texas is serving his second year as drum major. Previously, he marched trumpet in 2013. Eric studies music education at University of Texas at Arlington, where he plays trumpet for several ensembles, including the UTA Jazz Orchestra and UTA Wind Symphony. He is also the drum major of the UTA Maverick Marching Band and an Eagle Scout.ZACHARY SHELLER

Zachary Sheller (19) is marching his fourth season with the Madison Scouts, and his first as drum major. He played baritone/euphonium from 2012-2014. Zachary is interested in studying music education in the future, and currently works at a before/after school center for elementary school students. He also instructs a middle school wind ensemble in his hometown of Georgetown, Texas.“This camp has blown me away, honestly,” said Sheller. “I got here and [thought], it’s my fourth year, it’s gonna be the same thing. It’s totally changed. A lot of guys here are just so eager to learn. Everywhere I go, everyone’s wanting to learn more, or just wanting to get to know each other.”LOGAN WHITEHOUSE

Logan Whitehouse (19) is a native of Greenfield, Indiana. He studies biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and aspires to become a dentist. Logan played saxophone and trumpet in his high school marching band before becoming drum major his senior year. He also marched in his high school’s indoor percussion line. This is his first drum corps experience.“I am ecstatic to get this opportunity, and I think the season’s going to go really well,” Whitehouse said. “It feels really good to be in front of people who all want to be here and that are all working really hard.”
