The Madison Scouts are pleased to introduce the 2016 drum majors Eric Perry, Zach Sheller, and Nathan Czech.ERIC PERRY
Eric Perry (20), of Hurst, Texas is marching his forth season for the Scouts and serving his third and final year as drum major. Previously he marched trumpet in 2013. Eric studies music education at University of Texas at Arlington where he plays trumpet for several ensembles, including the UTA Jazz Orchestra and UTA Wind Symphony. He is an active private teacher in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is on staff of a Texas all-state marching band. He aspires to be a high school band director in Texas. In 2015, Eric was selected for Drum Corps International's Jim Jones Leadership award, the third Scouts drum major to receive that honor over the past 5 years."This production is going to be an incredible challenge that will, without a doubt, produce one of the most memorable shows in the corps' history," said Eric. "The rehearsal camps have been so positive and helped us all to raise our standards and strive for more."ZACH SHELLER
Zach Sheller (20), of Georgetown, TX, is marching his fifth season with the Madison Scouts and his second as drum major. He played baritone and euphonium from 2012-2014. He currently works as an algebra tutor in his hometown while attending school. Zach was recently accepted into the University of Texas at Arlington to begin his undergraduate studies as a music education major."Playing the music of Jesus Christ Superstar is such a thrill and I'm also excited to see how our members have embraced our process for teaching and learning," said Zach. "It is fascinating for me to experience how much a drum corps can grow from season to season."NATHAN CZECH
Nathan Czech (18) is from River Falls, WI where he is a senior at River Falls High School. A trombone and euphonium player, Nathan was the drum major of the River Falls High School Marching Band which is under the direction of Scouts alumnus Bryan Jaeckel. Nathan is also a trombonist in the River City H.S. jazz band and was baritone player last summer with the River City Rhythm drum and bugle corps. Nathan plans to attend University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the fall to study music education.“I am thrilled and honored to have been selected to be one of the drum majors for the Madison Scouts,” said Nathan. “This will truly test me as a person and as a musician... it will be the experience of a lifetime.”The Madison Scouts will begin the 2016 DCI season by touring California with their first show on Friday, June 24th in Fresno, CA.
