Andrew has been involved in the world of marching percussion for the better part of two decades. Andrew started his drum corps career out in 2004 with the Kingston Grenadiers (2004-2005), Rochester Crusaders (2006-2009) and The Boston Crusaders (2010-2011). His indoor marching career includes Onondaga Community College (2010) and United Percussion (2012).Andrew began teaching at The Plainfield Community School Corporation in the fall of 2017 as the in-school percussion teacher as well as being on the percussion staff for the band and indoor group. Andrew has also been on percussion staff with The Empire Statesmen, The Boston Crusaders, Phantom Regiment, and Legacy Indoor Percussion. Andrew is currently the Ensemble Director of Veritas, which is under the 317 Performing Arts umbrella along with Orbit.Andrew McAfee, Percussion Ensemble Specialist

Percussionist Andrew McAfee began his study of music in 1997. In his early years, he spent the summers touring the country with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets and Pulse Percussion Ensemble. McAfee’s formal studies include a Master of Music from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music from California State University Long Beach. Throughout his education, he received multiple awards and scholarships including Outstanding Achievements in the area of Percussion, the Lillian Newman Komaroff Memorial Scholarship, and the prestigious Avedis Zildjian Scholarship.Throughout the years, Andrew has studied and performed with Michael Spiro, Steve Houghton, Nick Mancini, Kevin Bobo, and Raynor Carroll. Andrew currently lives in Indianapolis, IN where he teaches marching percussion and performs throughout Indiana in various jazz, pop, musical theater, and chamber ensembles.Trevor Dunbar, Tenor Tech

Trevor Dunbar is from Indianapolis, Indiana, where he got his start playing tenors with Legacy Indoor percussion (‘14,’16) . He went on to gain experience from other indoor percussion groups such as NorthCoast Academy (‘15) and Rhythm X (‘17,’18). During the summer, Trevor also marched Phantom Regiment (‘15,’16,’17,’18), where he was section leader his last two years. In spring of 2018, Trevor graduated from Indiana University where he majored in mathematics and obtained minors in psychology and spanish. He currently lives in Indianapolis where he teaches the battery at Center Grove High School and performs with the Indianapolis Colts drumline and Indiana Pacers drumline.Tim Henderson, Snare Tech

Tim Henderson is a percussionist from the Indianapolis area. He began his drum corps career as a member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2012 season. From there he went on to march with the Phantom Regiment as a snare drummer from 2013-16. During the winter seasons, Tim was a member of Legacy Indoor Percussion (2013-17). As an educator, Tim has worked with various schools across the Indianapolis area including Fishers, Ben Davis, Lawrence Township, and New Palestine. He currently works with Lawrence Township as a battery specialist and holds the Director of Percussion position at New Palestine. In the Independent scene, Tim worked with Legacy Indoor Percussion as a snare tech for the 2018 season and will be working with 317 Performing Arts as a snare tech. In the Spring of 2018, Tim graduated from Ball State where he studied music under Braham Dembar.Alex Hinds, Snare Tech

Alex Hinds is a percussion specialist born and raised in the Chicago-land area. He has grown to become a leading educator, clinician, and performer throughout the United States. Alex currently resides in Houston, Texas and holds the title of Director of Percussion at Galena Park High School in Galena Park ISD. At this time he is currently on staff with Monarch Independent Percussion as a snare tech.Alyssa Iwinski, Bass Tech

Alyssa Iwinski began her marching career at Henry Clay High School in 2006, where she developed a passion for bass drumming. She entered the WGI community in 2008, marching a total of 8 seasons with groups including Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble, Gateway Indoor, and Matrix Performing Arts. Alyssa also participated in DCI, marching with the Phantom Regiment in the summers of 2013 and 2014. In 2016, she was also given the opportunity to teach and perform on an international level with Matrix Performing Arts in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Since aging out, she has graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and most recently, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky. She has enjoyed integrating concepts from her academic background to her passion for education and percussion performance. As an educator, she has taught at Garrard County High School, Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble, and Legacy Percussion.Matthew James, Bass Tech

Matthew James is an active percussion instructor in Normal Illinois. He is currently the percussion director and arranger for the Normal Marching Band and is the percussion ensemble director at Normal West High School. He holds a bachelor’s in music education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music performance from Illinois State University. His marching performance experience involves Green Thunder Percussion (2011-2014), Cavaliers Indoor Percussion (2015-2017), Legends Drum and Bugle Corps (2012), and Phantom Regiment (2013-2016). As an educator, he has taught at Shadow Drum and Bugle Corps, Cavaliers Indoor Percussion, and Phantom Regiment.Tyler Norman, Tenor Tech

Tyler is from Arlington, TX and is currently attending The University of North Texas pursuing his undergraduate in Kinesiology for an Athletic Training/Allied Health Pre-Professional degree. For his last three semesters he has been working for UNT’s Athletic department as a student Athletic Trainer for their football program. He has also been a part of UNT’s Green Brigade marching band and was in UNT’s Quad Ensemble that competed at Pasic in 2016.During high school, he began his marching career with DCI in 2011 as a member of Forte Drum & Bugle Corps where he then went to march other respected organizations within DCI and WGI. Such as, Imperial Percussion Theatre (2012) and Vigilantes Indoor Percussion (2013-17). As a member of Vigilantes, he won a gold medal in Independent Open in 2016, and later competed in Independent World for the 2017 season. He also marched Phantom Regiment from 2014-16. Most recently he had the privilage to teach at Spirit of Atlanta for the 2017 season as a quad tech.Shelby Shelton, Front Ensemble Tech

A native of Central Texas, Shelby Shelton is an active performer, instructor, arranger, and consultant living in Nashville, TN. She is currently serving as a band director at Lavergne High School and working with the percussion section at Father Ryan High School. Shelby has instructed many groups including the Sacramento Mandarins, Music City Drum & Bugle Corps, Blue Springs High School, Clarksville Audio Theatre, and Modulation Z. This is her third summer with the Madison Scouts. Shelby received a Masters of Music degree in percussion performance and a post-baccalaureate degree in music education from Middle Tennessee State University She attended Lindenwood University in St.Charles, MO for her undergraduate studies where she double majored in both percussion performance and English Literature. Shelby began her marching career with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2010) and went on to perform with the Blue Stars (2012) and Phantom Regiment (2013). In 2012 she began playing with Gateway Indoor and aged out as section leader in 2014. She proudly endorses Innovative Percussion. Randy Sifuentes, Front Ensemble Tech

Randy Sifuentes began his musical career in 2002 in his hometown Edinburg, Tx. With a strong introduction into music he eventually began his studies under Eduardo Trevino at Economedes High School. Many of Sifuentes's instructional strategies stem from Trevino pushing all his students to always raise their own personal bar of achievement. Sifuentes began his performing career early by performing with Revolution Drum & Bugle Corps in 2008. After learning a wealth of knowledge for three seasons with Revolution he went on to perform with the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps for his last two seasons.From 2016 to 2018, Sifuentes was an assistant band director for Sharyland North Junior High and percussion consultant for Sharyland Pioneer High School in Mission, TX. Sifuentes has been conducting percussion clinician tours around the U.S. since 2014. He teaches privately, performs at percussion festivals, judges solo and marching competitions, and arranges for marching bands around the country. He has taught battery and front ensemble to various middle schools, high schools, universities, drum corps, and was the front ensemble coordinator for Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps in 2013. While earning his degree in Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University he earned the Outstanding Achievement in Percussion Award and the Outstanding Pre-Service Teacher Award. Jared Staples, Front Ensemble Tech

Jared is a music educator located in the Indianapolis area. He had the distinct privilege of marching with Music City Mystique in 2013 under the tutelage of Meagan Nelson, Rob Pastor, and Angelo Outlaw. While attending Middle Tennessee State University, Jared studied under many percussive greats including Lalo Davila, Julie Davila, Matt Jordan, and many more. His teaching experiences include being a front ensemble technician at Clarksville Audio Theater (Audio Theater) 2014, at Legacy Percussion from 2016-2017, at Fishers High School as an instructor/director from 2014-2017, and at Plainfield High School from 2018-2019.Zac Sterling, Bass Tech

Zac is from O’Fallon, Illinois, where he began his musical career with O’Fallon Township High School in 2007. He has been involved in the marching arts ever since. His marching experience includes Matrix (2015), Gateway Indoor (2014), Carolina Crown (2012), and the Madison Scouts (2010, 2011, 2014). Since aging out, he has taught and consulted with several independent and scholastic groups in the activity. Zac has a B.A. in Criminology, an M.A. in International Finance, and will graduate with a J.D./M.B.A. in May from the University of Kentucky.Josh Varab, Tenor Tech

Josh currently serves as an after school coordinator and camp director for inner city schools in Indianapolis, IN. He was born and raised in Elkhart, IN, where he began his marching career with Concord Community High School. Josh spent two years marching tenors with Madison Scouts during the 2013 & 2014 seasons and continues to perform as an alum. He attended Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies. Josh has instructed, arranged, and taught privately for several high school and independent marching programs in Indiana for the past six years, most recently serving as battery instructor and arranger for the Penn Marching Band (Mishawaka, IN 2013-2017), Tenor tech and battery instructor at Carmel High School (Carmel, IN 2018), and Tenor tech for both Legacy Performing Arts (Indianapolis, IN 2018) and 317 Performing Arts (Indianapolis, IN 2019).Garrett Weekley, Snare Tech

Garrett Weekley is from Knoxville, Tennessee. He began his marching career playing snare drum with the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps (2013-2014) and later went on to march with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps (2015-2016). In the winter, Garrett spent his WGI seasons with Matrix Percussion Ensemble (2014-2015) of Akron, OH and went on to march with Music City Mystique (2016-2017) of Nashville, TN - winning the WGI World Championships in 2017. Since aging out of the activity, he has been teaching several well accomplished high school percussion programs in the Knoxville area. Currently, Garrett is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
