An alumnus of the Scouts, Ron went on to teach the Madison color guard for eleven years after aging out. Between stints with the Scouts, he also worked with the Velvet Knights Drum Corps and their WGI Finalist winterguard program. In addition to the VK Winterguard, Ron also taught State Street Review winterguard and was the lead instructor of several H.S. and independent winterguards in the San Diego area including Mt. Carmel H.S. (WGI Scholastic A champions, WGI Scholastic Open Silver medalists), Esperanza de Luz (WGI Independent A champions), and Lealta Winterguard (WGI Independent A champions, WGI Independent Open champions). Ron has a major in Television/Film with a focus on editing.
Sarah Price, Color Guard Tech
Sarah Price is the Director of the Dance Department at Wando High School as well as the Color Guard Director for the Wando Band Program in Mount Pleasant, SC. A South Carolina native, she is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education with K-12 Certification. For over a decade, Sarah has been involved in the marching arts as a performer, choreographer, instructor, clinician, and adjudicator for various performing groups throughout the country. As a performer, Sarah has performed with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2008-2009) and Etude Winterguard (2007-2010).Laura Riker, Color Guard Tech
Laurie L. Riker started pageantry at the age of 4 where she twirled baton with her 8 other siblings in Castro Valley California. At 12 years of age she started twirling rifle and flag with a local drum & bell corps from San Leandro, California. At 15 she became a member of the World Champion Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps. She performed 6 years with the Blue Devils winning the DCI Championship title 3 times. For the next 12 years she was a staff member for the Blue Devils Color Guard and movement instructor for the Blue Devils horn line. Those corps achieved the DCI High Color Guard award 5 times and DCI World Championships 3 times.Laurie then started teaching high school color guard at Clayton Valley, Beyer, Bullard, Clovis West, and Buchanan high schools. Since then, Ms. Riker has taught the esteemed System Blue Commerce Leadership Camp as well as Black Gold Independent World Guard, LV Berkner High School, and Sunnyvale High School. Laurie currently serves as the Color Guard Caption Head, Program Coordinator/Designer, and Winter Guard Director at North Garland High School (TX) since 2012.Clay Singletary, Color Guard Tech
Clay Singletary is in his fifth year teaching as Assistant Band Director and Director of Colorguards at Allen High School in Allen, Texas. His duties include conducting Symphonic Band III, assisting with all high school bands, directing the Colorguard program, team teaching the marching band program, and team teaching at Ereckson Middle School. Mr. Singletary is a Rockwall native and graduated from Rockwall Heath HS. He went on to graduate with a degree in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Singletary was a member of The Lumberjack Marching Band under the direction of Dr. David Campo, a four-year member of the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Fred J. Allen, as a well as a member of the SFASU Orchestra of the Pines under Dr. Gene H. Moon. Mr. Singletary performed with various ensembles including Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps and Purpetual Motion Winterguard.In 2018, Clay joined the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps color guard staff. Clay has worked with numerous groups in Texas as a designer, choreographer, and clinician. In his 5 years at Allen, the Colorguard program has been a consistent North Texas Colorguard Association, and WGI winner. In 2017 the Allen Colorguard was the NTCA National A Champion, WGI Dallas Regional Scholastic A Class Champion, and a WGI World Championship Finalist in Scholastic A Class.His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Theta Chi Fraternity.Jacoby Taylor, Color Guard Tech
Jacoby Taylor began his color guard career with Klein Collins high school where he served as the captain for his junior and senior year. After high school Jacoby continued his color guard education with various programs such as The Heights (IA), Axis (IO), and is a four year vet and alumnus of the Madison Scouts. In his time with Scouts, Jacoby served as the color guard captain for 3 of his 4 summers. He is so excited to take the step away from performer and help continue to build the legacy of the Madison Scouts Color Guard.
Jacoby has worked with various groups in the Houston and surrounding areas as a designer, choreography, and clinician since 2013. He currently serves as the director of Tomball high school, color guard coordinator for Ridge Point high school, designer for Cypress Ridge High School and choreographer for Elkins, Lumberton, and Morton Ranch High School. His latest venture is opening up Houston’s newest Independent A program, Undaunted, where he serves as Co-Director and lead designer.
