MadU Design includes five content strands, each hosted by a member of the Madison Scouts design team. Participants can register for courses independently or in any combination that is of interest to them. Each course will include six, one-hour group sessions and two one-on-one consultations between the student and course instructor.

Program Coordination - Jason Robb
Wednesdays at 9pm ET/8pm CT
Class dates: 12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20
A rare opportunity to explore the fundamentals of program design and coordination with the Madison Scouts’ design leader. Course content will challenge you to think critically about how you program for your band or ensemble, and will allow you to get feedback on creative ideas for your upcoming seasons.
Choreography - Jennifer Leseth
Mondays at 8:00p ET/7:00p CT
Class dates: 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18
Perfect for all aspiring choreographers. This class gives you a front-row seat to the Madison Scouts’ choreographic process. Learn about the techniques and styles included in our team’s creative process, and get feedback on your own work throughout the course.
Drill Design and Staging - Noah Bellamy
Thursdays at 7pm ET/6pm CT
Class dates: 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21
Learn the fundamentals of drill and staging with the Madison Scouts drill designer. The course will familiarize you with the basics of drill writing software and writing tools, and will challenge you to think creatively about your on-field presentation. Participants will receive direct feedback on their creative work during the course.
Music Arranging, Winds - Daniel Montoya Jr.
Tuesdays at 9pm ET/8pm CT
Class dates: 12/1, 12/8, 12/15, 1/5, 1/12, 1/19
Learn the fundamentals of wind arranging for the marching arts with our brass arranger & composer. The course will cover technical and creative elements necessary for success as an arranger, and will allow you to get direct feedback from design team members on your own creative work.
Music Arranging, Percussion - Matt Hahn and Ryan Ellis
Thursdays at 9pm ET/8pm CT
