The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce Mike Hardiek as the Visual Caption Manager. Mike has spent the past 33 years immersed in the marching arts beginning with the Glassmen where he oversaw the visual caption as the corps rose to become a perennial DCI Finalist. Most recently Mike was the drill designer for the Crossmen from 2014-2016. Mike spends his fall seasons writing for multiple ensembles all over the country from Florida to Nevada. Most notable he has spent 29 years with the Homestead Spartan Alliance Marching Band in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Spartan Alliance has won 6 Indiana State Championships and never placed below fourth during his tenure. During the winter months, he has served as the director and visual designer for "Plan B" indoor percussion ensemble, a 3-time WGI Indoor Percussion medalist."I am thrilled to welcome Mike to the Madison Scouts team," stated Artistic Director James Elvord. "Mike brings a wealth of experience to our visual program and an approach that focuses on student education and experience. We are excited to have him on board!"Away from football fields and gymnasiums, Mike is committed to his work with non-profit organizations. He has served on the Boards of Directors for many causes both locally and nationally. The Shrine Children’s Hospitals hold a special place in his heart and he works tirelessly to raise money and awareness for its cause. Over the years Mike has specialized in creating a strong volunteer education program as well as brand awareness. He believes his time in the board room makes him a better educator because it teaches listening skills as well as patience.Mike Hardiek is honored to call Madison his new home and is committed to providing the membership with an exceptional educational experience. He is gathering the best instructional staff from around the country to create a dedicated team that is committed to a common cause. Mike believes that the football field can be a classroom to teach lessons that will benefit the membership long after they leave the activity.
