April 17, 2015 - Madison, WI - The Madison Scouts and Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) are pleased to announce their partnership in “Drum Out Hunger”, a fundraising campaign to help grow awareness and ease the issues of hunger and homelessness in the communities of Middleton, West Madison, and Cross Plains, Wisconsin.
For 63 years, the Madison Scouts have hosted a drum corps competition titled “Drums On Parade” in the Madison and Middleton area. The event draws over 1200 youth musicians from across the country to perform for an audience of nearly 3000. This year’s event is being held on Saturday, June 27th at 7 p.m. at Middleton High School.Both non-profit groups will work with area businesses to raise funds to support the campaign with a goal of raising $20,000. Businesses that are participating in the campaign will be provided ad space in the show’s program book and announced sponsorship throughout the show. Audience members will be asked to contribute non-perishable food items.“Drums On Parade provides a unique event platform to both fundraise and generate awareness,” said Madison Scouts Vice President Jeff Manion. “We can provide local businesses valuable exposure to our audience while simultaneously assisting the charitable efforts of MOM.”“We are excited to partner with the Madison Scouts on this project,” said MOM Executive Director Al Ripp. “The Drum Out Hunger campaign will be a unique opportunity for our business donors to get exposure at this Middelton event while helping to raise funds to fight hunger in our community.”Between now and June 15th, businesses and individuals can contribute to the campaign by going to www.DrumOutHunger.org and making a contribution online. Business will also be contacted to submit their ad and announcement copy to be used at the “Drums on Parade” show.
