Madison Scouts Launch Alumni Association

Last fall a committee of dedicated alumni was assembled to explore ways to best form the organization, research best practices, and define a framework under which to operate. At its most recent meeting, the board of directors adopted the formation and by-laws for this newly proposed alumni group.

The mission of the Madison Scouts Alumni Association (MSAA) is to:

  • Utilize the time, talent, and resources of Madison Scouts Alumni to build a stronger connection to the current and future corps.
  • Enhance communication and events for Madison Scouts Alumni to connect both within and between generations of the Madison Scouts fraternity.
  • Create an ongoing financial legacy that will ensure the long-term stability of the Madison Scouts organization.

“We are very excited to formally organize our passionate alumni base,” said Board President Gregg Auby. “Various attempts to establish an alumni association have been made in our history, but we anticipate that this structured approach, combined with enthusiastic leadership, will result in a vibrant and engaged alumni community.”The association seeks to connect, organize, and engage Madison Scouts alumni in order to build a lifelong connection in support of the Madison Scouts organization. The MSAA intends to accomplish this through social activities, community outreach, and fundraising. There is no fee required to become a member of the MSAA, which is open to all former marching members in good standing with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. The MSAA only asks that alumni update and/or add contact and marching history to its online database called CorpsData.
