Join the Scouts 2019 Tour Management Team

The Madison Scouts are looking to supplement their summer-tour management team for the 2019 season. If you are looking to get experience working with a World Class touring music organization, this could be a great opportunity for you!

The Madison Scouts will tour and perform throughout North America from June 22nd through the Drum Corps International World Championships on August 10th. Members of the management team are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corps as it travels and performs throughout the summer tour.The positions include:Equipment & Set Prop ManagerThe Equipment Manager will manage the inventory and condition of the musical instruments, help facilitate repairs when needed, and assure instruments are transported securely and safely. In addition, work on the creation and maintenance of simple props and sets used in the show. The Equipment Manager will help facilitate and monitor the safe and proper loading of both the equipment and prop truck and will assist in the transportation of equipment and props to the performance area for rehearsals and shows. The candidate must have good problem solving skills, basic carpentry knowledge, and be able to physically move and manipulate large equipment and set props.Fleet Manager - HIREDThe Fleet Manager role will be responsible for developing routing for the fleet to assure that all vehicles can traverse it safely and adhere to the defined schedule, ensure legal compliance to DOT driver and fleet regulations, manage driver requirements, schedule and facilitate routine vehicle maintenance, and respond to any fleet-related issues.Costume Manager - HIREDThe Costume Manager will ensure that all performance apparel is kept clean and maintained over the course of the tour, including repairs and alterations. Some sewing experience is required.Non-CDL DriversCandidates for non-CDL driving positions must be comfortable driving a large SUV or van, have experiencing towing a trailer, and have the physical capability and knowledge to hitch a trailer. Drivers are required to drive overnight and sleep during the day. Candidates must be at least 26 years of age and possess a clean driving record.Media Specialist - HIREDThe Media Specialist will assist in the creation of photographic and video content for use in the promotion of the corps throughout the summer tour. This person will assist the marketing team in the development of the corps brand, event promotion, and social media presence.Marketing Intern - HIREDThe marketing intern will assist in the development of the corps brand, event promotion, and social media strategy in addition to exposure in public relations and non-profit fundraising. The ideal candidate will be working towards a business, marketing, or music marketing degree and have a high-level of interest in the music industry and non-profit development. Design skills required, including experience with Photoshop and Illustrator. This is an unpaid internship position but food, lodging, and transportation will be provided.Merchandising Intern - HIREDThe merchandising intern will assist in the development, acquisition, display, and sale of merchandise to help promote the corps on the tour. The merchandising intern will work under the direction of the merchandise manager to assure a high-quality presentation of soft goods is achieved, inventory is managed, and stellar customer interactions are achieved. This is a great position for somebody who is pursuing a merchandising degree and wants direct hands-on experience in this area. This is an unpaid internship position but food, lodging, and transportation will be provided.QualificationsThe primary length of contract is from May 26 - August 10, but may vary depending on the position. We will interview candidates who may have different schedule requirements but could still be available for the majority of the dates listed. The candidates must provide their own mobile phone with a data plan and ideally would have their own laptop as well. All of the aforementioned positions will be provided travel to/from the corps, food, housing, and tour transportation.Candidates will be interviewed via video conferencing.
