Forward Performing Arts and the Madison Scouts are proud to be a participating sponsor at the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Marching Band Championships to be held October 14, 2017 at Perkins Stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Gates open at 11 a.m. and the bands perform from 12 p.m. through 10 p.m.“Forward Performing Arts continues to be a strong advocate of the marching arts in Wisconsin,” said Programs Director Dann Petersen. “The WSMA State Marching Band Championships showcase the very best marching bands from Wisconsin. We are excited to help sponsor the event and assist in providing adjudicators for the competition.”“Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) strives to ensure that all students have opportunities which encourage lifelong involvement in music," said Timothy Schaid, WSMA Executive Director. According to Schaid, “The WSMA State Marching Band Championships, just one example of the many programs WSMA offers to students at member schools, brings together more than 30 of Wisconsin’s finest marching bands to participate in an event that helps to instill musicianship, team-work, an appreciation of the succulent fruits that come from hard work and a lifetime of memories for each student that participates.”The Madison Scouts will have a vendor booth at the event where you can meet Forward Performing Arts programs director Dann Petersen and executive director Chris Komnick.
