Who: Central Ohio-based high school and collegiate drum majors
When: June 14-16, 2021 from 9a-12p and 1-4p
Where: Worthington Kilbourne High School, Columbus, OH
Forward Leadership Drum Major Camps assist attendees in building skills in the following areas: leadership, teaching, and conducting. Jason Robb will teach leadership and teaching courses, and David Lofy will teach conducting with the assistance of Zayra Mata-Velazquez and Leyira Gininwa, current Madison Scouts Drum Majors. LEADERSHIP – develop an in-depth awareness of your unique skill-set and personality, and learn how to build meaningful connections with those you lead.
TEACHING – build your teaching tool-box for the moments when you’re asked to teach your peers. Learn how to effectively facilitate the band’s rehearsal procedure from the podium, a tool utilized by leading drum corps and marching bands.
CONDUCTING – advance your conducting technique as you develop your fall show music alongside former and current Madison Scouts drum majors.
The camp will culminate in a performance showcase of individual drum major teams and the full group.

Tuition: $300 per attendee
Complimentary Forward Leadership & Madison Scouts merchandise will be provided.
Housing will not be provided. It is recommended that local students commute, and others seek hotel accommodations.

All school district safety protocols will be followed. It is highly recommended that all participants receive full COVID-19 vaccination prior to camp.
