The Madison Scouts are excited to announce the appointment of David Lofy as Assistant Director. David is an alumnus of the Madison Scouts having marched from 2012-2014 and served as drum major for the 2014 season. The past two seasons he has been a member of the Oregon Crusaders brass staff as a low-brass instructor."David is an excellent example of the Scouts Leadership Program in action and it is a privilege to have him back with the corps," said director Dann Petersen. "He was an exceptional leader as a member and continues to excel in his music education pursuits. He will be an excellent role-model for our membership and provide strong management to our educational process."David is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where he is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education. In addition to his work as a student, he is actively involved in the Wisconsin and Minnesota areas as an instructor and consultant for various marching ensembles.
Also joining the leadership team is Eric Perry, as a Program Assistant, where he will help manage the operational and programming aspects of the summer tour. Eric marched trumpet in 2013 and served as drum major for three seasons from 2014-16. In 2015, Eric was selected for Drum Corps International’s Jim Jones Leadership award. He currently studies music education at University of Texas at Arlington where he plays trumpet for several ensembles, including the UTA Jazz Orchestra and UTA Wind Symphony. Eric is an active private teacher in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is on staff of the Birdville High School marching band.
