Dann Petersen Contract Extended

The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce the contract extension of Corps Director Dann Petersen through October 2018. An alumnus of the Scouts, Dann has served in the role of corps director since the 2008 season and has been directly involved in the drum corps activity for the past 27 years consecutively.“As an organization we are privileged to have the leadership and experience that Dann brings to his role,” said Chris Komnick, Executive Director. “He has tremendous passion for the corps and, more importantly, serves as a role model and mentor for our membership. Under his guidance, the corps continues to pursue its objective to “build better men” by providing real-world leadership opportunities to learn and grow as individuals and leaders throughout our program.”

“Dann has been instrumental in creating the foundation to the membership experience,” said Board President Gregg Auby. “A key objective to our organization is assuring that our members are provided an environment that enables them to learn, develop confidence in themselves, and apply the principles taught. Dann is the reason we consistently deliver on those objectives.”Dann holds a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon. He began his drum corps career in 1989 as a member of the Madison Junior Scouts, moving to the Madison Scouts in 1992 and aging out in 1997. Before becoming Corps Director, Dann held instructional roles in both the Madison Scouts and Southwind.Dann resides in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife and son and they are expecting another child in December.
