Audition for the 2014 Madison Scouts

The Madison Scouts announce auditions for the 2014 season, which will again include a virtual live-video audition process for brass players. Current audition and camp information can be found at www.MadisonScouts.org

"Last year we saw over 500 young men audition for the corps," says Executive Director Chris Komnick. "The video audition process for brass players went very well and we've improved that method even further for 2014. One of our primarily goals was to help keep the costs down associated with marching in a drum corps. The response was overwhelmingly positive and we will continue to find ways to keep the activity affordable."For brass applicants, the auditions will utilize a live-video audition process. The auditions will be conducted via the Google video conferencing platform and will provide applicants 15 minutes of one-on-one time with both a brass and visual instructor for evaluation. The live-video auditions will be conducted throughout October and November with qualified applicants then being invited to attend the December 20-22 callback camp in Indianapolis, IN.Utilizing a traditional audition process, the battery and front ensemble auditions will be conducted on November 23-24 in Bloomington, IN with callbacks at the December 20-22 camp in Indianapolis, IN.The color guard auditions will be conducted at the December 20-22 camp to be held in the Indianapolis, IN.AUDITION & CAMP SCHEDULEOct thru Nov - Video auditions for brass playersNovember 23-24 - Battery & Front Ensemble - Bloomington, INDecember 20-22 - Brass, Battery, Front Ensemble, & Color Guard - Indianapolis, INJanuary 17-20 - Brass & Percussion - Indianapolis, INFebruary 21-23 - Brass & Percussion - Indianapolis, INApril 25-27 - Brass, Percussion, & Color Guard - Indianapolis, IN"The Madison Scouts are committed to help reduce the overall costs for young musicians to participate in the drum corps activity," continued Komnick.
