The Madison Drum & Bugle Corps Association, Inc. is pleased to announce that the organization is formally changing its name to Forward Performing Arts, Inc. to best reflect its current and future ambitions.

“Recently the board of directors ratified a strategic direction titled Vision 2021”, said Gregg Auby, board president. “The basis of that vision is to serve more students and better advance our music education mission in the State of Wisconsin.”“Forward is the state motto of Wisconsin,” stated Chris Komnick, executive director. “It embodies our vision as a performing arts association. Forward Performing Arts will build off the success of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps to serve more students with performance and educational opportunities and increase our role in performing arts education throughout the state of Wisconsin.”The name change will be ratified by the board of directors at the next scheduled meeting on February 13, 2017. It is expected that the name, combined with the vision, will help the organization connect with a larger audience of stakeholders, both patrons and participants. The name of the performing ensemble "Madison Scouts" will remain unchanged and will continue to be the foundational entity within the organization.“The Madison Scouts take the field with a step forward.” said Komnick. “Metaphorically the organization is now taking a step Forward towards new and exciting opportunities.”NOTIFICATIONPursuant to Section 4 of Article IX of the Bylaws of the Madison Drum & Bugle Corps Association, Inc. (the "Association"), as restated on January 12, 2015, and as published on the Association's website, please take notice that the Association's Board of Directors intends to amend Section 1 of Article I of the Association's Bylaws to change the legal name of the Association to "Forward Performing Arts" at the Board's next regularly-scheduled meeting on February 13, 2017 at the offices of Eustice, Laffey, Sebranek & Auby, S.C., 100 Wilburn Road, Suite 202, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590 with such meeting commencing at 6:00 pm CST.
