Czech, Modl, Ohler, and Castro to Lead Scouts in 2019

The Madison Scouts are pleased to introduce the 2019 drum majors: Nathan Czech, Daniel Modl, Justin Ohler, and Dominic Castro.NATHAN CZECH

Nathan Czech (21), of River Falls, WI, is marching his fourth and final season with the Madison Scouts. He currently attends the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music education. Nathan studies euphonium and participates in the wind symphony, concert choir, and is one of the drum majors for the Blugold Marching Band. “The last three years I have spent with the Scouts have been some of the best years of my life. I am beyond honored to be asked back to spend my age out with the corps and look forward to another summer living my dream and becoming a better person.”DANIEL MODL

Daniel Modl (18), of Chippewa Falls, WI, is marching his second season with the Madison Scouts. He currently attends the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he is pursuing a double major in music education and psychology-applied behavior analysis. At school, he studies saxophone with Dr. Alastair Wright and plays in the university’s symphony band and the Blugold Marching Band. Daniel will also be serving as one of the conductors for the Blugold Varsity Band in the spring. Daniel enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and playing music for his church.“I am very thankful to be returning to the Madison Scouts. This organization has continuously given me the lessons to become a better musician and a better person. I’m excited to spend another summer with my brothers.”JUSTIN OHLER

Justin Ohler (19), of Brunswick, OH, is marching his first season with the Madison Scouts. He currently attends Baldwin Wallace University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music education and studies saxophone with Professor Steven Banks. Previous marching experience includes serving as drum major for the Brunswick High School Marching Blue Devils for two years under the direction of Jay Wardeska. Justin was also a rehearsal assistant for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017. After college, he plans to pursue a career as a high school band director. “I am extremely thankful and happy to be selected as a drum major for the Madison Scouts. I cannot wait to build a family here with the rest of my brothers. I am extremely excited for the summer and to see what the 2019 Madison Scouts have in store.”DOMINIC CASTRO

Dominic Castro (17), of Greendale, WI, is marching his first season with the Madison Scouts. He currently attends Greendale High School, where he serves as drum major for the Greendale High School Marching Band. Dominic performs in the school’s prestigious wind ensemble and honorary jazz band as a first-chair flutist and aspires to pursue a career in french linguistics.“It is a privilege to serve as a drum major for the Madison Scouts. I look forward to working amongst many phenomenal musicians and am eager for the 2019 season.”The Madison Scouts will begin the 2019 DCI season in Whitewater, WI on Saturday, June 22nd.
