Zach Bethel is a trombonist and brass educator in the Madison, WI area. Zach has served on the Madison Scouts brass staff since 2024. He is currently the Adjunct Low Brass Instructor at Concordia University Wisconsin where he teaches lessons and performs with the CUW faculty brass quintet. An active chamber musician, Zach performs with the Beltline Bones, an electro-acoustic trombone quartet, as well as the Bridger Brass, a contemporary brass quintet. Zach also holds a position with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras as the Admin and Membership Coordinator.
Prior to his time with the Scouts, Zach was a graduate teaching assistant with the UW-Madison athletic bands. He also spent two years on the brass staff at The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. He holds a Masters in Trombone Performance degree from UW-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Florida State University. Outside of the music profession, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren and his dog Cleo.
