Orien Sims is from Arkansas. He began his marching career as a trumpet player in the Gurdon High School band, and in his junior year, he joined color guard and his love grew for the arts from there. He marched Black Gold (winter guard) and Madison Scouts (2018 & '21).
Orien teaches/techs for many guards in his area. He currently teaches full time at Arkadelphia high school as the lead choreographer. When he’s not teaching guard, he is the behavior interventionist at the Louisa E Perritt primary school.
This will be his third season with the Madison Scouts. When he’s not working, you can find him hanging out with his friends or spending lots of time with his family.
