Olivia Newhouse began her passion for athletic training in the Summer of 2021 during her first performing season with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, where her athletic trainers played a pivotal role in her performance and recovery from injuries. This transformative experience inspired her to pursue athletic training to help others accomplish their dreams. Olivia was a part of the color guard in her two performing seasons and she aged out with the Madison Scouts in 2022.
Olivia is a current graduate student at Marshall University. She graduated cum laude with her bachelors in Athletic Training as well as a minor in psychology in April of 2024. She plans to have her masters degree in Athletic Training in Spring of 2025 as well as her Athletic Training certification. She serves as the president of the Marshall University Athletic Training Association, competes with the MUATA Quiz Bowl team, and has been recognized for academic excellence with multiple first-place case study presentations. This summer, she's coming full circle, returning to her alumni drum corps as an athletic training intern.
While Olivia has enjoyed working with sports like football and volleyball, her heart remains closely tied to the performing arts, reflecting a commitment to supporting the health and performance of athletes.
Olivia resides in Huntington, West Virginia with her two cats as she continues her education in athletic training while gaining additional specialty certifications including integrative dry needling.
