John Scharf currently serves as the Percussion Director at William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio. He oversees the marching percussion ensemble and concert percussion activities during the school day. John received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Michigan State University.
In addition to the Madison Scouts, John is actively involved with WGI where he holds the position of Ensemble Manager with Matrix Open. He was a part of the instructional staff at Phantom Regiment (2019-2022) and has taught several high school marching bands across the Midwest.
John was a member of several ensembles, including NorthCoast Academy (2014-2015), Matrix Performing Arts (2017-2018) and the Cadets (2017).
