JJ Frederico is a percussion performer, educator, and arranger originally from Cleveland, OH. He is currently finishing his degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance from Wright State University in, Dayton, OH, where he lives with his fiancé and their two dogs.
He has performed with groups such as Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps (2015-2016) and Cap City Percussion (2017-2018). After aging out, he immediately joined the visual team at Cap City in 2019, then moved into a snare tech position at Matrix Open in 2020. After graduating high school, JJ started teaching in local high schools all over Ohio. He’s worked with schools such as Brunswick High School, St. Edward High School as Percussion Director, Tippecanoe High School as Percussion Director, and Avon Lake High School as Percussion Director where he started their inaugural Indoor Percussion season. Most recently, JJ served as Assistant Percussion Caption Head for Cincinnati Tradition (DCA).
JJ currently serves as one of the Battery Coordinators at Cap City Percussion as well as Battery Specialist at Kettering Fairmont High School while gigging locally in Dayton. This is his first season with the Madison Scouts.
