Instructor-Intern

Jason Leung works for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps as a visual technique intern, where he will learn how world-class marching arts educators operate to elevate the members' marching experience both on and off the field.

For his first and last season of drum corps, Jason aged out with the Madison Scouts in 2024 on baritone. That season of drum corps reminded him of how much he loved the marching arts, and it motivated him to pivot his life and studies back towards music. He got contracted with Spectre Percussion for the 2025 WGI PIO season, he became a visual caption head and choreographer for schools in the central Virginia area, and he composed a string ensemble piece premiered by the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra in November 2024.

Jason is an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University studying mechanical engineering and music, graduating in Fall 2025. He served as the Secretary for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, President of Dungeons and Dragons Club, President of the Percussive Arts Club, worked as a researcher in the Advanced Magnetic Materials Processing Lab with the College of Engineering, and worked as an International Student Liaison with the School of Education.
