Hunter Mays is an active performer, educator, and student who currently resides in the Dayton area. His career as a performer and educator spans numerous genres and settings: chamber music, orchestra performance, solo percussion, and the marching arts. Currently he is finishing up a Bachelor’s degree in Percussion Performance at Wright State University.
Previous to aging out of WGI and DCI, he was a member of Cap City from 2017-23, aging out as center marimba and ensemble leader; and aged out with Carolina Crown in 2022. He is currently on staff with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, serves as a Front Ensemble Coordinator at Cap City Percussion (2024 PIO Bronze Medalist), Kettering Fairmont High School (2024 PSO Bronze Medalist), and also maintains a private lesson studio. Previously, he has taught at several schools in the Dayton area such as Tippecanoe HS, Fairborn HS, and Lebanon HS.
