Calvin Chao is an educator, clinician, and arranger from Elmhurst, IL. He performed with Cavaliers Indoor Percussion in 2017-2018 and marched snare with Crystal Lake Thunder in 2019. As a member of the Northern Illinois University Percussion Ensemble, he performed at the 2018 Percussive Arts Society International Convention and earned his Bachelor's in Music Education from NIU in 2022.
He previously served as the Front Ensemble Coordinator and Audio Engineer for the Colt Cadets (2023-2024) and is an active percussion instructor throughout the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He currently teaches elementary general music in Bartlett, IL, provides private percussion lessons, and leads multiple marching percussion programs. Calvin is the percussion caption head at Lemont High School and director of Minooka High School Indoor Percussion.
