Andy Grindle is currently in his seventh year as the Band Director and Music Production teacher at Kernan Middle School in Jacksonville, FL. Over the last six years, the KMS bands have grown from 43 students to over 260 students enrolled in a band class and have consistently earned Superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment.
Mr. Grindle received an undergraduate degree in Music Education (K-12) from West Liberty University, a master's degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education. His research interests include the integration of popular music in the band classroom and pre-service teacher training.
His professional affiliations include the Florida Music Education Association, the Florida Bandmasters Association, and the Association for Popular Music Education.
